Fold-Over: Fold-over cards are great for companies that want to include a little more information in their design than a standard 3.5”x2” will allow. Folded cards are 3.5”x4”, giving you twice as much space as a regular size card. Be creative with your fold-over business cards by using the folded style in your design. Include a die cut on the fold to create a custom shape or die cut one side of the fold. Fold over cards are a unique take on standard cards, but will give you enough edge to stand out from the crowd.
Every new businessman wants to make his brand memorable, when he enters the market, regardless of the fact that he has strong resources available or not. However, there are only a few of them, who have the awareness of promoting their brand through proper marketing tools. Even though your budget does not allow you to go for a massive marketing strategy, you can take small steps to get recognized among general public and then leave a lasting impression of your brand. It is impossible to get a memorable brand without a perfectly designed business card, which stands out. The task of getting business cards printed seems to be an easy one, as you don't have to do much. All you need is a simple design and a good printing company, which completes your order within time. However, this does not guarantee success and you have to do proper planning to finalize your business card.
It is a fine summer morning and you are in a happy mood. You have just returned from a long and important overseas business trip and you have attended a number of seminars and exhibitions. As you sit down with a cup of coffee your secretary enters and hands you a stiff piece of rectangular paper. She announces that a well-dressed man had come to meet you regarding an important business deal and had left behind his business card. As you glance through the card, you are impressed by the quality of the board used to make the card. What strikes you is the superb color combination the logo and the lettering of the card uses. Your eyes are riveted to the same and you just cannot take them away.
Some people state that the need for business cards has now gone by and that in the electronic digital time, our own use of a card is passé. The reality is absolutely nothing could be further from the actual truth. Maintaining and sending out a calling card is going to remain a signature of stylishness, elegance and dependability. It of course demonstrates that company personnel are concerned about their career and about the people they are meeting. Acquiring a card is a clear sign that a personal communication is certainly not dead.
Your colour scheme is very important and you need to design a card that correctly reflects the nature of your business. There is no point having flashy and vibrant colours if you are in the banking industry. You may also have a design on your card such as stripes or squares and its all well and good but you need to get a colour scheme that is suitable. Some card designs draw attention to themselves using colours and the more colours you use, the more attention it will draw and you need to consider the aspect of inappropriate over attention.
Be Unconventional – Modern Business Card printing means the designs and colours available are virtually unlimited. You must have the relevant details on the cards and you are limited by the standard size, but beyond that, you can be as creative as you like. It's not necessary to be frivolous or outrageous to be unconventional, just use colour and design effectively. If you don't have a flair for graphics, then employ the talents of a professional. If your budget won't stretch to hiring in talent, then spend time looking at examples on the internet. If you type in a query to a search engine you'll find thousands of examples to inspire you, and it is well worth a day or so of your time to get this right. Once you find a design or a picture you want to use, don't be shy of spending a little money if need be to acquire it.
Quality Counts – The first aspect is the quality of the card itself. If the card is poorly designed and printed on a lightweight flexible board it looks, and feels, cheap. This is the impression it will give of you as a business person. On the other hand, if the design is professional and slick, and printed on a high quality board then when the card is picked up in the future, the card will in turn create an impression of a quality and professionalism. The business card should also be properly proof read before being printed. The best design in the world will count for nothing if there is an error with the phone number or a spelling mistake.
