Selection of format is most important for presenting your details. Appropriate format will highlight your details in the best way and get you noticed by the employer. Every job application needs an initial research about the prospective job profile. With this research, you will know about the skills required for the particular job and what the employer is expecting from the candidate. You can include these exact details in your CV for making better impact on the hiring managers. An engineering resume should clearly highlight the technical skills of the applicant. You can add the summary of technical skills in your CV to give clear idea about your existing skills. These skills can be further divided into different subcategories to make it more readable. Engineering CVs have quite simple format. The only thing you must keep in mind is to include the information according to the requirements of the employers and hiring managers.
Whatever means more to the employer is what you want to highlight and showcase on your resume. Make sure, especially if you are using a template or working off of an example of a resume, that you have the leeway to do it your way. Does it make more sense to list experience and qualifications in a chronological order, or are these traits best grouped by specific aptitudes? For example, if an employer stresses leadership as a necessary, you may want a section titled Leadership, and then give examples from your education, your training, your work experiences all the different ways you can show that you have leadership qualities. Then title another section with another desirable quality and highlight how you meet that criterion.
Activities beyond the workplace can show skills that will apply to a new career. Interests in groups, support groups, contacts, networks, sporting clubs or associations will be great to list in the career change resume. Any activity that shows an interest in the new field will help create an overall picture of you as the applicant and give the prospective employer an understanding of why you wanted to have a career change.
