There was a time when a proper Resume meant a summary of the academic achievements. Those days are long gone the new industry standards of Resume Writing demands a whole new approach. People are more interested in how you are as a person and not the amount of mugging you did before exams.So imagine the patience and effort that must go into filling up that page with ever so cautious details. A proper Resume is the only marketing tool the candidate may wield to rope in the interviewer to buy his brand of product. Thus it is a must for any candidate gearing up for his dream job to go through a few content that are already available. While the net does have some samples of writing Resumes its advisable to go through a lot of them to frame the perfect one for you. It is essential to go through company specific Resume. By that I mean you should go to any directory on the net that stores Resumes and find the one that was used while applying in a company you want to work for. But a word of caution is that never try to copy anything you get to see in the directories. Look for pointers such as the style of writing one's profile or the way all the achievements are listed.
You will also not see a candidate using a ”one size fits all” format on a good resume example. Hiring managers want to see the progression that you made at each previous job, and unless that is impossible for you to list due to a total lack of work experience, or extreme job-hopping, then the resume should list your positions and duties going back at least ten years, in reverse chronological order, as well as your education level. If you are just recently out of college, you may list your degree first; otherwise, your work experience should be listed first.
A top-notch resume example will also never have incorrect contact information. After all, how can you expect a prospective employer to contact you if they don't have the correct information? This would be a terribly careless mistake to make and almost certainly make getting the job an impossibility. They will rarely be too long or too short, but should be the perfect size to get in the information you need, without going overboard. If you can fit all of your important and pertinent information on one page, that's great, but don't worry if you have to go on to a second sheet of paper. Anything longer than this should be avoided unless it is absolutely necessary.
